REEFWALKER NEWS LETTER ~ OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2009Due to the recreational fishing ban which is in place till the 15th of December 09 we have been forced to have
a 2 month honeymoon, which is great but doesn't fill the kitty! October has been an amazing month for whale watching with the whales still coming through way into November. We had Kevin Marshall, the Wildlife Protection Officer stationed in Geraldton on board and he mentioned that between 19 000 and 25 000 whales have swum by our coastline this season. The great news is that the numbers are growing and hopefully we will be able to see more and more of them.
On the 15th of November Crayfish season opened, we had a great first catch and partied with Crays for lunch! Our dear friends Mel and Dave from Byron Bay came along on the trip and they were stoked....the picture tells it all!
