Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the tours depart from?

Our vessel departs from the Kalbarri Maritime Facility on Grey Street, which is located approximately 300m north of the Kalbarri IGA - across the road from the Jetty Seafood Shack & the Riverview Holiday Apartments.

Our vessel is located in Pen 1 so you won’t miss us!

Where should I park?

The beauty of Kalbarri is that (mostly) everything is within walking distance. There is a beautiful meandering path along the foreshore if you feel like a stroll down to our boat.

If you would like to drive, there is ample parking at the Kalbarri Maritime Facility, however please do not park on the “loading wharf” as commercial fishing vessels use this area to unload their boats. This area is frequented by large trucks and a forklift.

What do I need to bring/wear on the tours?

We recommend comfortable clothing of a lightweight material for most days and occasions. It is recommended to bring along a jumper and/or windproof jacket as the conditions at sea are often cooler than what you will experience on land.

We recommend appropriate covered shoes to be worn at all times during the tour.

Can we bring our own alcohol on board?

We permit passengers to bring their own alcohol on board. We provide wine glasses, champagne glasses and and an ice box to store drinks.

There is a bottle shop located directly across the road from the Kalbarri Maritime Facility should you need any last-minute beverages.

Please refer to the Terms & Conditions regarding alcohol consumption.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

We have no age limit for our tours, everyone is welcome on board!

The age range for a child’s ticket is 3-12 years. Children aged under 3 are free of charge. We have room in our wheelhouse to store prams/bags etc.

Please note – children must not be left unattended at any time while on board.

What if I get seasick?

It is recommended passengers use seasickness tablets according to personal needs.

Ways that you can avoid illness affecting your day include:

  • Avoiding alcohol the night before your tour.

  • Getting a good nights sleep.

  • Eating a small non-greasy breakfast prior to arriving.

  • Purchase yourself some sea sickness medication from a pharmacy and take it as per the instructions.

  • Once on board, sip water and keep your eyes on the horizon as much as possible.

  • Try not to think about it, sometimes your own mindset is the best preventative!

  • We offer water and assistance on board to anyone who may feel unwell.

In the event a passenger gets seasick, we cannot bring any passenger back to the embarkment point until the tour is completed. We cannot refund or offer an alternate outing to any passenger who may become seasick on a tour.

What is your policy regarding whale sightings?

Reefwalker Ocean Discovery prides itself on delivering quality whale-watching experiences.

“Reefwalker Ocean Discovery has a 100% sighting guarantee or you can join us on another whale watching tour for free! This return voucher will is valid for 2 years.”
*This voucher is subject to availability and non-transferrable between individual persons or tours.
*A “No Sighting” is determined by Reefwalker Ocean Discovery or its representatives.

“Highly recommend this tour. Great morning out pulling pots. The crew were excellent and got a feed of fresh crays to take home. One of the highlights of our time in Kalbarri.”
